"If there's one thing I want to teach actors, it is that an artist has two best friends, himself and the play."

  New York

Dennis Davies' Scene Class

In this scene class you will find your own personal way of working in the world of the play, not a formula or method that is imposed upon you and inhibits your unique, creative powers. Professional actors practice the art of transformation in a real and personal way.
Respecting and developing your talent, nurturing your personal, organic creative process so you know how to work for yourself in any situation is where this class will lead you.
Regardless of form or structure, the question the actor should always ask themselves is, "Is it real?"
Actors who are serious about their work recognize that the art of acting is a creative craft that requires a creative, personal process.
Too often actors are not given time to work with the best part of their talent because they are forced to learn a system or method rather than discover what works for them in order to become personally involved in their work.
Knowing how to rehearse, audition, or perform successfully- whether it is in theater or film - all depends if you know how to be the best actor you are capable of being. If you are committed to your art, your craft, yourself...then this is the class for you.

Judy Krause- Accent Reduction

The goal of the class is to:
-comprehend and create the flow of American English.
-learn and generate correct American English inflections.
-organize, pace and emphasize speech with precision.
-understand, use and improve vowel and consonant sounds.

An accent reduction class to non-native English speakers. This is something I've been teaching for the past 3 years in NYC and abroad for major Fortune 500 companies. I think it might be very beneficial to international student actors. I know it would be great for international students who want to audition in the US and for those who just want their English to be better understood. Potential students would need to comprehend English at a normal pace to get the most from the class. My goal is not to have them lose their accent, but to never have them repeat their speech because someone didn't understand what they were saying. It's a physical class that has music and movement incorporated. It's a lot of fun, intense training. I teach privates in a curriculum of 10-12 sessions with 1 session per week for an hour and a half. I also teach a 3 day intensive (9am - 4 pm) both privately or in a group setting.

PRICE: $125 for 1and a 1/2 hour private class

              $600 3 day group intensive

Dates and times to be decided. For all information, contact
